This concept relates to the ‘Projects Unrealised’ series, and consists of a genuine works proposal (signed off by the gallery’s curator) to install a black hole in the exhibition lobby space of the University of Brighton’s fine art building. Housed and displayed behind perspex, the proposal describes the object’s installation as possible, despite its realisation being impossible. Without the actual proposed work in place however, the piece therefore becomes purely the viewer’s experience of imagining its existence.
